Overview
The Marine Electrical Engineering Department was established in May 2017 to satisfy the needs of local, Arab and international markets to comply with the important amendments to STCW 1978 as amended which included the addition of new standards for marine electrical engineers.
The Department is very keen to continually develop its curricula to comply with STCW 1978 Convention as amended, and to IMO Model Courses besides developing teaching aids along with highly equipped lecture rooms, engineering workshops, technical and engineering labs, and integrated engineering and navigational simulators, the outcome of which is highly qualified graduates to work on commercial vessels.
All lecturers in the Department are either Marine Electrical Engineers (ETO) Certificates or university academics with MSc. All staff members in the Department are continually being developed through training and exposure to keep up with latest developments in their fields.
We are also in the Department making our utmost efforts to create an educational environment that helps maximize our outputs.
