- Cargo Handling and Stowage at the Operational Level
- Monitor the loading, stowage, securing and unloading of cargoes and their care during the voyage
- Supervise the preparation of holds and deep tanks for loading
- Supervise the operation of the ship’s cargo gear

- Ensure a solid stow and securing of all cargoes in packaged form
- Ensure separation between bulk cargoes or packaged goods if required
- Supervise to ensure that adequate precautions are taken to ensure ventilation and facilitate inspections during the voyage
