Course Description
The objective of this course to be able to supervise the preparation and dunnaging of holds and the operation of ships’ cargo gear and will be aware of the importance of adequately securing cargo to prevent damage to the ship or cargo. Trainees will identify dangerous goods and know that they are stowed and separated according to requirements of the IMDG. They will also know the hazards related to some bulk cargoes and the precautions to take during their loading, carriage and discharge. Learners will also have a basic knowledge of the piping and pumping arrangements of oil tankers.
