The objective of this course is to develop the students profi-ciency in reading advanced technical maritime English texts. The materials selected stress micro skills as deducing the meaning and use of unfamiliar lexical items through understanding word formation and contextual clues, understanding relation within the sentence and understanding relations between parts of text through cohesive devices. Comprehension exercises are supplemented by written exercises.
