Course Description
This course covers the fundamental concepts of displacement, TPC, buoyancy, and draught. Students will learn about the principles and calculations in determining these critical factors in naval architecture and marine engineering. Through a combination of lectures and practical exercises, students will gain a solid understanding of the key concepts and their applications in the design and operation of ships and other marine vessels. This course covers the concepts of Fresh Water Allowance, Movement of the Centre of Gravity, Statical Stability, and Initial Stability. In addition, this course covers the concepts of the Angle of Loll, List and its Correction. Finally, this course covers the topics of curves of statical stability, the effect of slack tanks, and trim.
