Overview
Founded in 2005, the Marine Engineering Department is one of JAMS’s core academic units. We offer basic studies and upgrading pathways that lead to Certificates of Competency issued by the Jordan Maritime Commission (JMC). Our curriculum complies with STCW 1978 (as amended) and is aligned with IMO Model Courses.
Training blends classroom learning with hands-on practice in our engineering workshop, technical and electronics labs, and integrated engine/bridge simulators—preparing graduates to serve on merchant vessels worldwide.
Our faculty are chief marine engineers and university academics (MSc/PhD) who maintain active professional development. Learning is delivered on-campus and in blended formats, supported by modern teaching aids and quality assurance processes.
