In a ceremonial gathering in Dubai, UAE, on Nov. 23, 2021 organized by the Maritime Standard on the occasion of the seventh edition of Shipping and Maritime Awards, Jordan Academy for Maritime Studies (JAMS) was granted the Award of Maritime Education and Training (MET) in the Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent region.

This award comes to top the achievements of JAMS over 17 years especially in tackling the covid-19 pandemic, providing the Maritime Transport sector with highly qualified and well-trained personnel with the highest quality in all teaching and logistic stages.

Jordan Maritime Commission (JMC), the Jordanian Maritime administration, linked to the Ministry of Transport, glorified this achievement by JAMS at this local, Arab and regional level.

The event was attended by more than 1200 persons from all maritime transport sectors representing more than 80 governmental and private sectors.

This Award corresponds with JAMS adopted slogan since its establishment in 2004 (Committed to Excellence) which reflects, the Academy’s interest and aspirations to enhance its image and status in terms of experience and competencies of the Academic and administrative staff, along with keeping abreast with the latest developments in all fields pertaining to international curricula and operators’ requirements, in addition to logistic provisions including the most modern simulators and various infrastructure needed for the preparation of highly qualified human resource.
