
Qatari Delegation Visits JAMS
His excellency Prof Mustafa Massad, the President of Jordan Academy for Maritime Studies, received an official senior delegation from the Ministry of Transport and Communications from Qatar headed by the Ministry Assistant undersecretary, Maritime Transport Affairs, Dr Saleh Bin Fetais. The Meeting discussed ways of enhancing cooperation between the two countries and conducted several Maritime Educational Programs and training courses for the operational and management level, which Contribute to strengthening and developing human capabilities in the maritime, Logistical and administrative aspects.
JAMS also viewed a presentation about the Academy’s establishment in 2004 as the first Maritime Education and training institution in Jordan and the sole provider for further education and training programmes in Electrical Marine Engineering in the Arab world and the Middle East and presented the different specialized training courses, the administrative consultancy in other areas, the academy accreditation and its Quality Management System.
The delegation was briefed about JAMS facilities such as the navigational and engineering simulators, the electrical laboratory, Engineering Workshop, Marlins Test Centre and English language Centre, Other logistics, educational and administrative services that JAMS provide for Students, and the best practices and techniques used in Maritime Education and training.
Dr Saleh and the accompanying delegation expressed their admiration for the development and progressive improvement in adapting the different teaching aids used in the Academy.
The meeting was attended by several officials representing Jordanian transportation entities from the Jordan Maritime Commission, His excellency Engineer Mohamed Salman, the General Director, and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport, Engineering Wissam Al Tahtamoni.
