Description
This model course describes guidelines for training using an engine room simulator specified as one method of demonstrating competence in Column 3 of the tables A-III/1, A-III/2, A-III/4, A-III/6 and A-III/7, except the Function “Controlling the operation of the ship and care for the persons on board at the operational level/management level.
Objectives
The main tenets of resource management relate to the non-technical skills associated with the social interaction between team members, situation awareness and decision-making. This is a high fidelity, complex, simulated working environment.

Registration Procedures
– Fill the course registration form.
– Payment of course fees.
General Rules
1. Attending courses is daily and according to the schedule of each trainee who should adhere to the start time of courses.
2. Please be available in lecture room at least 15 minutes before scheduled time whether the course is virtual or in person.
3. Approved costume while attending is formal or semi-formal costume.
4. Effective participation and sharing of experiences is a must.
5. Full attendance of the course is a must as the lecturer will allow no interruptions or delay during the whole course.

Other Info
According to STCW Convention including 2010 Manila Amendments engine crew must receive training in accordance with sections A-III/1 for watch keeping engine room officers and A-III/2 for chief engineer officers. The latter combines training on technical management, legislative compliance and last, but not least crew management, leadership and team work.
Cancellation & Withdrawal Policy
As for general courses fees will be refunded in case of withdrawal before the set date of the course, but in the case of custom-built courses, fees are refundable if cancellation is notified one week before the set date. Otherwise, agreed-upon fees will be chargeable.
