Description

This course aims to provide a thorough training in the proficiency of maneuvering a fast rescue boat. Participants will be trained in the launching, and taking charge of a fast rescue boat in accordance to STCW requirements.

On successful completion of the training and assessment, the trainees will have knowledge of the construction and function of different types of fast rescue boats and associated equipment.

• Taking full care of a fast rescue boat (FRB) during and after launch.
• Understand the construction and outfit of FRBs and individual items of their equipment
• Know the particular characteristics and facilities of FRBs
• Understand safety precautions during launch and recovery of an FRB
• Know the procedures for righting a capsized FRB
• BE able to handle an FRB in prevailing and adverse weather and sea conditions
• Understand navigational and safety equipment available in an FRB
• Search patterns and environmental factors affecting their execution
• Assessment of the readiness of FRBs and related equipment for immediate use
• Knowledge of the maintenance, emergency repair, normal inflation and deflation of buoyancy compartment of inflated FRBs
• Operate an FRB engine, including methods of starting and operating an FRB engine and its accessories.

1. Attending courses is daily and according to the schedule of each trainee who should adhere to the start time of courses.
2. Please be available in lecture room at least 15 minutes before scheduled time whether the course is virtual or in person.
3. Approved costume while attending is formal or semi-formal costume.
4. Effective participation and sharing of experiences is a must.
5. Full attendance of the course is a must as the lecturer will allow no interruptions or delay during the whole course.

The trainees who successfully complete this course will be competent to handle and take charge such boat during and after launch in adverse weather and sea conditions.

As for general courses fees will be refunded in case of withdrawal before the set date of the course, but in the case of custom-built courses, fees are refundable if cancellation is notified one week before the set date. Otherwise, agreed-upon fees will be chargeable.
